FAQs
What does “public ownership and management” mean?
Public ownership means water resources are held and managed for the benefit of everyone – not for private profit.
It emphasizes transparency, community oversight and long-term stewardship.
How will the community be involved?
Community voices are central to this process. The initiative prioritizes ongoing outreach and engagement. Listening sessions, meetings and collaboration with government agencies will help ensure community perspectives guide both the process and the outcomes.
Aren’t you proposing this solution just so you can get groundwater to your golf courses?
TY Management’s long-term priority is to be able to move to R1 water for golf course irrigation. This a broader public-private initiative, though, and the partners in it also aim to advance the overall public good by expanding access to water for the entire community and making it easier for each user to use the most appropriate type of water, including by facilitating access to R1 water for all eligible users along the pipeline route.
How is this effort being funded?
TY Management is committed to providing funds to support this effort through donations to Peace Winds America (PWA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to projects that serve the public good.
