Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC)

The Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC) is a State of Hawaiʻi agency tasked with preserving agricultural lands and ensuring long-term food security across the islands. By acquiring and managing major plantation-era irrigation systems, the ADC serves as a critical public entity, transitioning historical infrastructure into modern assets for the state’s diversified agricultural future. Through state ownership, the ADC operates these vital systems on a cost-recovery basis, ensuring that water remains affordable and accessible for local farmers. ADC owns and operates irrigation systems on Oʻahu and Kauaʻi.

Peace Winds

Peace Winds is dedicated to helping communities worldwide build secure, sustainable and just futures. Originally founded in Japan, Peace Winds is represented in the United States by Peace Winds America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in close partnership with sister organizations in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Together, they operate in more than 30 countries, providing life-saving relief and long-term recovery programming after disasters and crises, as well as carrying out large-scale projects that support communities facing a wide range of pressing challenges.

Commitment to Lāhainā and Maui Recovery

In the immediate aftermath of the 2023 fires, Peace Winds began working with local partners to provide emergency relief goods. It has continued to support the recovery effort through initiatives to provide griefcare and psychosocial support, install a safe community space at a temporary housing settlement, support animal rescue, and offer capacity building training for disaster case management. To date, Peace Winds has channeled approximately 2 million for Maui community support. To date, Peace Winds has reached over 5,000 people/communities affected by the fire.
